PARISH PRIEST’S DESK:

1. SOARING ON THE WINGS OF GRACE
   We wish to encourage us to continue to soar on the wings of Grace this 2022 by:

• Attending masses regularly.
• Reading the Word of God daily.
• Spending time in prayer and adoration daily.
• Join a society and get involved in the Church Activities.
• Get a Mass Journal and write something from the homily every Sunday.
• Grow in the knowledge of the Faith and Church Doctrines.

2. STEWARDSHIP: To encourage participation and commitment in the activities of the Parish, Stewardship Commitment forms were distributed at all the masses. Unfortunately, the turn-over of these forms were low. This is a special call to every parishioner to kindly return the filled forms indicating areas of fresh commitment to the affairs of the church. Submission can be done at the bulletin stand on Sundays and at the Parish Office on weekdays.

3. POWER CONSUMPTION: Due to the rising cost of diesel, we wish to inform our beloved parishioners that we may have to make some adjustments to our use of the generator in the Church. Kindly bear with us

4. SECURITY ALERT: In the light of the security situation in our country, we wish to enjoin all parishioners to be more security conscious within and around the church premises. Extra measures will be put in place to help us to be more vigilant. Kindly cooperate with the security personnel(s) of the parish accordingly. May the Lord protect us from every evil. Amen.

1. SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY: Next week Sunday, 12^th June 2022 is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the undivided unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Let us all prepare to celebrate this great mystery of the Church.

2. ORDINARY TIME: The Liturgical Period referred to as “Ordinary Time of the Year” has begun. The weeks of Ordinary Time celebrates no particular aspect of the mystery of Christ. The saying of “Angelus” is resumed. The Readings at Mass are taken from Week 10 of the year; Sunday readings are from Year C and Weekday readings are from Cycle II. The colour of the season is Green.

3. Beginning from the month of June, we shall resume the following programs:

Tuesdays:          Blessing of Holy Water & Sacramentals (6:30pm mass).
Thursdays:        Blessing of Expectant Mothers and those seeking the Fruit of the womb (6:30pm mass).
Fridays:             Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after Morning and Midday masses.
Saturdays:         Blessing of Children (6:30am mass)
Let us take note and participate actively.

4. ADORATION MONTH: The Month of June is a special month dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament. Every family is encouraged to spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and pray for their special intentions.

5. SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: Next week Sunday, 19^th June 2022 is the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus et Sanguinis Christi). It is a day set aside by the Church to remember and appreciate Jesus’ gift of His body and blood to mankind for our sanctification, and salvation (eternal life). Let us all prepare to celebrate this great mystery of the Church where Jesus is really PRESENT in the Holy Eucharist though in the form of bread and wine.

6. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Today, 13^th January 2022, is the Monthly General Meetings of the CMO and CWO (after the 10.00am Mass), and CYON (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all ensure we attend our respective organizations as crucial matters are to be treated.

7. COVENANT SUNDAY: Next week Sunday, 19^th June 2022 is our Covenant Sunday to build for the Lord. Let us all prepare to donate generously.

8. PUBLIC HOLIDAY: Due to the public holidays on Monday, 13^th June 2022, masses shall be by 6:30am and 6:30pm only. Please note that the Parish Office will open from 9am to 12noon..

9. EHJ TRANSFER: We express our deepest appreciation to Rev. Sr. Dorothy Dangi, EHJ as she leaves Holy Family to another apostolate. May the good Lord bless and strengthen you as you continue to answer His call. We also welcome Rev. Sr. Maria Clementina Okoli, EHJ as she resumes here at our Parish Bookshop. We wish you a fulfilling stay at Holy Family, Festac.

10. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (SCC): SCC meetings have resumed and will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 15^th June 2022 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: Luke 9:11b-17. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. Kindly check the Parish notice board for the various centers. There shall be mass this Wednesday at St Dennis SCC. Venue: 207 Road, D Close, House17, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance.

11. PLEDGE REDEMPTIONS: We wish to thank our dear parishioners for their sincere efforts in redeeming pledges made. We also use this medium to kindly appeal to all who are yet to redeem any outstanding pledge(s) for Harvest or Church Building to please do so at the Parish Office (Weekdays), the Harvest Booth opposite the Bookshop (Sundays) or pay directly to HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH, FESTAC- Zenith Bank: 1014506326. 12. DONATE A PEW: We wish to express our deepest appreciation to all our parishioners for your generosity at last week’s “Donate a Pew Project Launch for our New Church Building”. May God bless us all abundantly. Further donations and pledge redemption can be done to the account- Holy Family Catholic Church, Zenith 1011876127, at the Parish Office or at the Booth opposite the Parish Bookshop.

13. CHARITY/LOVE BOWL: We wish to remind our parishioners to return their Lenten Charity/ Love bowls to St Vincent de Paul Society. Let us endeavor to be committed. Remember; “whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto me”.

14. CYON TEEN CAMP 2022: Register your teenagers for the second edition of Camp Sinai holding from 24^th July to 30^th July at Saint Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, Lagos. The camp is for baptized teenagers and will include daily Masses, tech training, vocational activities, classes, Benediction & Holy Rosary, sports and games, etc. Teen coaches, experts, priests and religious shall monitor all activities throughout the camp. Registration is on-going at the parish office while the camp tuition fee is only ₦20,000. You can pay to First Bank account: Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria Holy Family – 3079617777. You can also sponsor teenagers to attend the camp. Discount of ₦10,000 exists for families and friends who register 3 participants together. That means you pay ₦50,000 instead of ₦60,000 for 3 people. This offer lasts till the end of May. Registration ends on Sunday, June 19^th 2022.

15. SKILL EMPOWERMENT: Our annual Skill Empowerment Program is here again!! This year, we will be having training(s) on: Hair making; Bead making; Catering; Make up & Digital marketing.
    We are also pleased to let you know we have added a few more social lucrative skills such as, Bag Making, Shoe Making and Photography. The program is slated to hold from the 25^th July 2022 to 31^st August 2022. We have scheduled morning and afternoon classes from 10am -1pm and 2pm to 5pm. We encourage you to be part of this life changing opportunity!! Forms can obtained at the parish office or library at just ₦5,000.

16. P.V.C: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revalidation and registration processwill take place at: 401 Road, G Close, Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin Lagos Date: 14^th – 15^th June 2022 and 207 Road, in Front of Block 6, Festac Town Date: 16^th – 17^th June. Time: 9am – 3pm Daily. Your PVC is your power.

17. HOLY CHILD CHOIR: The Holy Child Choir invites all parishioners within the ages of 9 and 19 who can play any musical instrument to come use their talents and skills to serve the Lord in the choir. The choir meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6pm in the upper hall of the parish center. Registration is free.  Sing praises… unto the Lord!

18. HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC PARISH LIBRARY: We are pleased to inform you that the Anthony Cardinal Okogie Reference (Parish) Library located beside the Anthony Cardinal Okojie Lower Hall is here to serve you better. At very affordable prices, we offer the following services: Photocopying, Lamination, Binding, Spiral Binding, Typing, Printing, Colored Photocopy etc. We also offer a vast range of books ranging from Literature to Accounting to Economics and a lot more. Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays. Time: 9am- 4pm. God bless you as you patronize us. 19. We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. We are continuing with 1^st and 2^nd Thessalonians. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

20. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
